VDR Crash

Hi,

After installing the new 1.0.1 and the new plug-in I'm still having the same problem.

Everytime I start a backup the VDR appliance crashe and terminate the job after 58% of the job with the error below:

"Task terminated unexpectedly, possible due to a power failure or system crash"

After this the VDR get disconnected and I have to login again.

Thanks

I have noticed a massage in the backup tab that say "not in complaince" for the server being backed up.

I just created another backup and it crashed in 99% of the backup and then vdr disconnected.

Thanks

Hi,

Guast OS 2003 R2 Server STD or 2003 STD all SP2

It does this on any os, I noticed that backup is ok on shutdown VM.

I installed the latest tools and vdr plug-in 1.0.1 along with the new vdr appliance.

Thanks

Is there enough sapce on the Backup Share, where VDR Saves the Contend.

Is the VRD Appliance on the Same host as the Target VM.

Can you Snapeshot the target VM Manually.

Some Tests:

On the Target share use an Local user not an Domain User. Change the Password to lower case and no spezial things. Full Right to the Folder. Place the Folder on the root of you`re Drive C:\Backup for example. Disable the Windows Firewall.

Check the Timezone and Date / Time on the VDR and ESX. (Time Server)

Hi,

Thanks for you quick reply.

The VDR have a CIFS share of 1.4TB free space.

I did both, one backup of vm on the same host and another on a different host.

I have no problem creating manual snap.

I do see that the vdr create the snapshots and proceeds to the backup.

Thanks

The CIFS share is on windows 2003 server (actually the vcenter itself).

I do have the root drive as shared and not a folder with in the drive so I will change this.

the user is local user as you mentioned.

Thanks
