VDR memory, cpu and disk requisites

Hello all,

I'm trying to find a document that shows how much memory, cpu and disk the backup appliance needs - something like the configuration maximum, but for the backup appliance. Is there a maximum number of VDR per vCenter ?

Thanks in advance!!

The VDR appliance comes pre-installed, there is no documentation because you aren't supposed to change anything, everything is preset to work as is.

The target datastore should be no larger than 1TB.

Technically VDR supports one 1 VDR, but you can manage several independently I found, there is no maximum since each one is basically a stand alone VM. So probably the official support is 1, but as each one is separate, there should be no problem. VDR can only handle 100 VM's at a time to back anyway.

See http://www.vmware.com/pdf/vdr_11_admin.pdf

As I remember you can have one VDR for each vCenter.

Well I know that's not true, we have 4... Maybe you are SUPPOSED to have only one, but the VDR is managed by an agent, and that agent connects to each VDR independent, and I have 4 configured, they work fine.

I know that is more than one.

A long time ago there was a PDF document that informs how much memory the would be used by the virtual appliance, the number of CPUs and the number of VDR's per vCenter (if I'm not wrong would be 10 VDRs per vCenter - the maximum).

I'm trying to find this document again.
