Convert MS Virtual Server 2005 R2 errors

Trying to convert a MS VM while its shutdown and am getting this error in the converter log on my vCenter server, where I start the convert process.

Task failed: P2VError IMPORT_SOURCE_NOT_RECOGNIZED()

This log really doesn't have much more info. Not really sure if this makes a difference, but the vhd file is in a different place than the vmc file on my VS server.

Any info would be helpful and appreciated.

AFAIK, all the files must be in the same folder for VS 2005 imports. You may have to update the vmc file to reflect that the vhd is relocated.

Also, make sure that there is nothing equivalent to a Snapshot on that virtual machine.

I was wondering if that was the case also. Gonna be a bit of a trick to move the files around I think...

Once I moved the vhd files to the same location as the vmc files, the conversion worked like a champ.
