Customization not working on 2008 r2

I have a guest that I am converting and part of the process i am customizing the guest os - which is Windows Server 2008 r2. I set all the fields but the only one that will work is machine name, it does sysprep the machine.

it will not add to the domain, it will not set the ip - stays as dhcp.

What can I do to trouble shoot this? I have exported the logs but there are no failure messages in there

You could try to see if it is a problem with the converter or the windows machine.

Instead of doing sysprep through the converter, convert it normally and make the new image a template.  Deploy from template and see if sysprep works that way.

Tried the suggestion and it didn't work. Because it has to create a new SID when you customize the os when doing the new convert it syspreps it again and we are back at square one.

i.e. a clean machine with a new machine name but the ip config has not been changed and it is not on the domain.

I can understand it wont attach to the domain while the ip address has not been changed.
