Hi,
We are using UEM 9.1 on Horizon 7.0.2 and Windows Server 2012 R2 as virtual desktops, and App Volumes 2.11 for applications. Writable volumes are disabled, so we store user's customizations in UEM archive profiles.
But everytime a users connects he sees a box showing "applying custom parameters" for "Windows Media Player Microsoft", "c:\windows\syswow64\rundll32.exe", "c:\windows\sysWOW64\mscories.dll,Install". I think we have to create a rule in UEM to store some Explorer customizations in roaming profiles but I don't know which ones.
The result is a black screen of 8-10 seconds at every logon.
Thanks.
Arnaud
Do your desktops refresh on logoff? If so, you may benefit from having UEM save the ActiveSetup records for the user profile so that it doesn't repeat first-time setup tasks on every login. My config for this is:
[IncludeRegistryTrees]
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Active Setup\Installed Components
HKCU\Software\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Active Setup\Installed Components
Also see this article: https://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=21003...
This will speed up the first logon a lot.
