32bit binary in a 64bit OS

I have a 32bit binary that i'm able to execute on my Ubuntu 9.10 64bit native OS. When I try the same thing on a 64bit VM (same OS) the binary gives me error that it doesn't exist. When i find a 64bit version and give it the same permissions etc it works fine

Is it possible to run 32bit executables on a 64bit VM?

Am I missing something here?

Hello.

It is possible, but you will have to do some extra work. The Ubuntu documentation site has more information.

Good Luck!
