Assessing storage usage through vSpehre

Hi All,

I've recently noticed that our 50 TB vSpere is throwing up disk usage warnings.

After a little diggin it turns out that its pretty low on space.

We are only using 1 data store but I was wondering.

Is there a better way to view the data store than through the vSphere.

Now I'm not lazy and I dont mind running through each folder in the vSphere to determine the file size of each file within but surley there most be a better way to do it?

If anyone has ideas I'd love to hear it.

We're using a single primary datastore that has about 50TB.

vSphere itself is made up of 2 hosts.

We are runni ESXi 4.

I know the above inforamtion might not be much to go on but i appresciate you having read this far.

All ideas welcome

you could use rvtools to generate a overall report on the vmdk disk usage as well as the datastore usage few with clicks only. http://www.robware.net/
