i´m afraid i´ve got a rather stupid question which solution is nontheless quite important to me.
I hope someone has the nerves to answer it without laughing 
I´m working in an environment where i have to virtualize some devices with a rather complex software environment on it, which, at some point, gets some informations from the hardware by windows-api calls
Now it seems, that a certain functionality relies on the "hardcoded!!!" display name of the original network Adapter.
On my virtualmachine the display name is "VMware Accelerated AMD PCNet Adapter" and thats
