hi guys -
I can't remember where / is there an option to choose hardware version for a vm. I want to create a template from a RIS server and my dilemma is using ESX 4 to create a vm that will need to be run on ESX 3.5 until the environment is upgraded to 4.0. I have upgraded my POC hosts to 4.0 (can only RIS servers in POC environment). Please let me know if there is an option to change hardware to 3.5 instead of 4.0 on my new vm.
Thank!!
Hello.
When you create the new virtual machine, choose the Custom configuration option and then you can specify the virtual machine version to use.
Good Luck!
When you create a VM choose the Custom option and it will be on the 4th or 5th page of the Deploy VM Wizard.
