I have an ESXi 5 and it has a VM Windows Server 2003 and joined to the domain
When I restart the VM W2K3 the date and time is not correct.
I tried to configure a GPO before login, but does not work because the time can not be correct with the domain controller.
Sounds like the VM is syncing its time with the ESXI host at boot up, and the ESXi host is not in sync with your Domain Controller.
You can try either of the following:
1. Ensure your ESXi host is using the same NTP settings as your DC's. From the vSphere Client select the ESXi host>configuration tab>under 'Software' select Time Configuration>Properties>Options - ensure the service is started and set to 'Start and Stop with the host'. Click NTP settings and specify the same NTP source as your domain.
2. Stop the VM from syncing its time source with the ESXi host. - right click VM>Edit Settings>Options>VMware Tools>uncheck the 'Synchronize Guest time with host'. If you do this it should revert back to getting its time from the DC
When you restart the VM, the date and time is not correct on ESXi or the Guest OS? Can you be n=more clear? Is the ESXi syncing the time from the domain?
Did you installed VMware tool in virtual machine ? Did you set date and time on Physical host configuration setting.
You can always sync with DC.

The client operating system.
The VMTools is installed, do not set the VM to sync with ESXi.
Now the problem seems to be solved after doing the steps;
1. Ensure your ESXi host is using the same NTP settings to your DC's. From the vSphere Client, select the ESXi host> configuration tab> under 'Software' select Time Configuration> Properties> Options - Ensure the service is started and set to 'Start and Stop with the host'. Click NTP settings and specify the same NTP source to your domain.
NTP was disabled
Glad its working now
