ESXi.5.1 root permissions

Hi Techies,

i have an issue with root account in ESXi 5.1 hypervisor, my ESXI host not able to join to the vCenter server, so i thought to uninstall VPX agent from ESXI by navigating to the /opt/vmware/      but i am unable to do, it says permission denied. even services also i am unable to restart. can some one help me on solving the problem.

what exactly are you trying to do??? the ESXi environment is essentially a black box environment.

what error messages are you getting when the ESX box fails to join? have you upgraded your vCenter to version 5.1?

Do you have "Lockdown Mode" enabled for the host? In this case take a look at http://kb.vmware.com/kb/1008077. The KB article does not mention version 5.1, so you may need to see whether this still applies (I didn't try this myself yet).
