Hi,
the mainboard in the server is an Intel R2208WT2YS.
All sensors like i.e. temperature or fans are not displayed in the vsphere-client, so from my understanding I lack the cim-provider for this instrumentation.
Where does I download this?
I was not able to find it on the Intel-website, nor here on the VMwae-website.
Any help is highly appreciated.
Thanks.
Karl
Hi,
found something on the HP-website.
Installed it, now all sensors seem to work fine and are displayed in the vsphere-client.
It is a little depressing not getting things like this straight from Intel or VMware.
Having to invest some hours of research does not feel like good support from either Intel or VMware.
Bye

Support from VMware:
VMware Compatibility Guide - CIM Provider Search
https://www.vmware.com/resources/compatibility/pdf/vi_cim_guide.pdf
Found via a Google search: "esxi cim provider"
Hi,
thanks, but I have had that pdf by myself (I know Google)
I do not see anything to download from this link neither a hint where to get the drivers needed.
That is what I meant with lacking support.
Regards
Karl
The PDF includes links to specific KB articles for each vendor, the KB articles include links to the specific vendor's repository.
An alternative is to install ESXi from the custom build supplied by the vendor (rather than the standard generic build from VMware).
