ESXi 6.0

Hi Guys,

We are configuring a UCS server having the CIMC (server management) and ESXi management IPs on the same network/subnet, while the vm application was in a different subnet. When we connect the server to a switch we can access the server but we cannot access the vm application. Which part do we need to adjust so we can access both the server and the vp application? Is it in the ESXi config or routing? Thank you.

Kind Regards,

Adrian

Assuming your management and VM are on different subnets and using VLAN, you will need to assign the correct VLAN for the VM port group and configure the physical switch port where your host are connected to work as Trunk port and allow traffic for all VLANs that you will use in your ESXi host.

Your vm and server should be in same broadcast domain.Make sure that both are in same VLAN at switch level.

Along with other suggestions, make sure you have configured that VLAN in UCS manager for that blades services profile vNICs ( or in vNIC template )

Thanks,
