I am installing brand new IBM x3690 systems in our environment. The servers have ESXi embedded. There are two on board Broadcom NICs and two four port IBM OEM'd Intel PCI-e NICs. ESXi sees the on board NICs without an issue, but it does not see the Intel four port cards.
I've googled and attempted installing an Intel NIC bundle from VMware via the ESXi CLI, but the bundle does not install.
What is the best way to get the Intel drivers loaded in ESXi?
Thanks,
Jeff
Which NIC's are we talking about?
Which bundle did you try to install?
Do you get an error when you try to install the bundle? Which one?
André
... and which version/build of ESXi do you run on the hosts?
André
It turns out I was downloading the wrong package for my NICs. Once I had the correct package, I was able to run:
vihostupdate.pl --server <IP address> --username root -i -b c:\temp\vmware\INT-intel-lad-ddk-igb-3.1.17-offline_bundle-452075.zip
and it worked flawlessly.
Thanks,
Jeff
