You can search here ARK | Your Source for Intel® Product Specifications or tell us your processor model and we can find it for you.

Your processor is from Ivy Bridge family, so you should select Intel "Ivy Bridge" Generation level or lower. See the processor details: Intel® Xeon® Processor E5-2690 v2 (25M Cache, 3.00 GHz) Specifications

If no Ivy Bridge level is available, check if you are running vCenter 5.1 or higher and if the other hosts on the cluster have the same or nigher CPU family.

The VMware Compatibility Matrixes ( VMware Compatibility Guide - System Search) contains that information:

  • Select CPU Series in the field What are you looking for
  • Select the model of your CPU
  • Click on Update and View Results

  • The supported EVC modes and ESXi versiones are displayed

  • In the search page, you can also click on CPU / EVC Matrix, and the supported EVC modes will be displayed
