Help! with setup and network.

I have been struggling with getting my setup to work. After reading threw some documentation for vsphere. I noticed that vcenter server must not be behind nat. Does that mean it should not be behind a firewall??? I also have questions regarding the AD DC in the whole setup.. If i set this up as Non NAt does my AD DC need to have its own public ip that is not behind nat too? Also the hosts do they need to also be installed in a non nat environment?

Welcome to the Community,

basically you shouldn't put anything on the public network, except for a firewall. Usually you'd run vCenter Server as well as the Management network of the ESXi host on your private network (e.g. the same network as your DC). The way you connect the virtual machines to the network can be completely different.
