How to extend boot disk size on ESXi 6.5

I am in the process of upgrading ESXi 6.5 to 7.0 and got the below message. How to extend the boot disk size?

The boot disk has a size of 1024MB, and the minimum requirement of the upgrade image is 3814MB.

I really appreciate any help you can provide.

ESXi 7 has different partition layout compare to prior versions.

https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-vSphere/7.0/com.vmware.esxi.upgrade.doc/GUID-474D003B-C6FB-465D-BC...

So you need to use larger disks. One option is available for you but there is no recommendation:

Clone your ESXi's disk to another larger disk and then upgrade to ESXi 7.

Another option is fresh installation.
