I can't resize a ubuntu server 32 vm using vsphere. Yesterday I could. Why?

Using vspehere v4.0.0 and ESXI v4.0.0.

Yesterday, with the vm stopped the option to resize the Disk was activated. But once I've upgraded the ubuntu server to 11.04 2.6.38-10-generic-pae i686 I've lost the option to resize the disk (with the vm stopped)

I don't know why it is happening because I have other linux vm and I can resize them without any problem but not this one. I've tried also to reconfigure the machine using VMware vCenter Converter Standalone Client without success.

So I am kind of lost.

Welcome to the Community,

please double check you don't have snapshots on this VM. Virtual disks with snapshots cannot be modified.
