In the previous version of VMware Infrastructure, I was able to set LVM.EnableResignature in one place. I then used a script that would allow me to snapshot LUNs on the SAN and import them into VMware as new machines. According to this link, http://communities.vmware.com/thread/211404, that's no longer possible. Instead, everything is handled on an individual DS level, using esxcfg-volume. Does anybody know if there's an equivalent API call that can do the same thing? The script I have makes extensive use of the VMware Perl Toolkit, but I don't know the new API well enough to find the information I'm looking for.
