Lost SFCBD RAID CIM provider after ESXi 6.5 update on various Dell servers

Somewhere inbetween A00 and A02 we've lost the RAID CIM provider. The biggest drawback is that RAID failures are no longer reported to our SNMP-based monitoring system. When going to the Host - Monitor - Hardware - Storage webpage of the respective server the only information is this warning: 'The Small Footprint CIM Broker Daemon (SFCBD) is running, but no data has been reported'. This happens on a range of different Dell machines ranging from the x10 to the x40 series.

'software vib list' shows that all drivers are in place, e.g. on this x10 machine with an LSI 1068E:

lsiprovider              500.04.V0.73-0002              LSIVMwareAccepted2019-11-25

So - how can we get the cim provider working again? As a workaround, can we at least retrieve individual drive information, i.e. drive present, missing or rebuilding, through SNMP? While the web interface no longer shows RAID info, at least the individual disks are listed

A quick test with 6.7 showed that unfortunately the situation does not improve.

I think this probably warrants a case with VMware and/or DellEMC.

Just a long shot... maybe you need to load the module? What the output of

esxcli system module list | grep lsiprovider

There's no output. I guess this is a driver and not a loadable module
