No network connection on ESX4

Hi all,

Got ESX4 cluster machines

have one server 2003 that cannot connect to the internet

yesterday it was fine got static ip on the machine nothing has changed.

tryed to move to DHCP but im getting APIPA its a flat network so not much configured

all the servers in the dame VC segment workin fine

try to remove the card and install it agian without luck

Its a accelrated AMD pcnet adapter.

what cab be the problem?

First of all I would detach the AMD network adapter from the VM and add an Intel E1000 (which is the default for Windows 2003 VMs) instead, then clean up the currently installed AMD network devices within the Windows 2003 VM. See http://support.microsoft.com/kb/269155/en-us (Method 1)

If you still cannot connect to the network, check the virtual network. Are all uplinks "up" and do they show the correct speed/duplex? Also make sure the physical switch ports are configured correctly, e.g. VLAN, spanning-tree portfast, switchport mode access (no port security enabled).

Try to set it back to a static IP address. If this works you may need to check the DHCP server.

Its on static IP agian

But without any changes

No network connection.
