Not generating jumbo frames

Hi guys,

We are not seem to be generating jumbo frames although I think everything is enabled correctly throughout.

We recently changed to CNAs...

My vswitch on all hosts involved have a MTU of 9000.

My NFS and Vmotion vmknic have a MTU of 9000 on all hosts involved.

Our network engineer has checked the switch config and that is MTU 9000.

I have done some vmotions, svmotions etc but the jumbo frame counter is not increasing.

Doing vmkpings etc seems to be ok but we just cannot seem to get ESX to generate jumbo frames

The only MTU mismatch I can see is that the vswif0 is actually 1500. It is all sitting under the same vSwitch (MTU 9000)

I always was under the impression that the vswif inherited MTU of vswitch but that appears to be incorrect and I will fix that.

In saying that I can't see how it would impact on jumbo frames from the vmkernel nics.

Any ideas?
