Restore ESXi 8.0 VM very slow

We have a ESXi host running several VMs

We backup a tape robot, the backup jobs are carried out at optimal speeds according to our gigabit LAN (around 500Mbps) optimal speed discounted rest of traffic and delays RAID disks etc.

The problem is when trying to restore from our tape robot over the gigabit LAN on the ESXi host, the speed does not exceed 20Mbps.

We have done all kinds of tests, we have tested the restoration work on alternative storage, outside the ESXi host and the speed is optimal, which rules out network problems.

But what really worries us is that to isolate the problem, we are testing uploading files to the ESXi host datastore and it takes the same speed, around 20Mbps, we have tested with WinSCP and with ESXi web browser.

Any suggestions to improve the transfers or is this the expected result?I would be very grateful for any help

Hi,
MTU at the network level do you have 9K? or is the default used. Does the jump host (VM) from which you upload data have a vmxnet3 network adapter? hypervisor firmware is up to date, particularly the NICs ? I think uploading is slower than downloading due to several factors such as disk write speed, raid level configured, link bandwidth utilization.
