Should I need to buy the Virtual Center License if I already have the vSphere 4 Enterprise License?

Hi, I recently installed a copy of vSphere 4.1and inherited the "VMware vSphere 4 Enterprise" license. I found out that I can't quit the vSphere demo mode in order to install the Enterprise license.

Reading these community forums (http://communities.vmware.com/message/1378693) I read that it's necessary to have installed the Virtual Center, and then from there add the vSphere License.

I have two basic questions:

1.- Is there a way to install the vSphere 4 Enterprise License to the host without the need of a Virtual Center Server?

2.- I already have a vSphere 4 Enterprise License, should also need to buy a Virtual Center License for the VC?

Note: I am on a hurry since our vSphere is about to expire in 5 days. =(

Thanks in advance

You can assign the license directly on the host without vCenter. Just open up the vSphere Client and connect to your host. Select the host then Configuration->Licensed Features, at this screen you can click on Edit on the top right side and assign the license key there. To answer the second question, the only time you need to purchase and install vCenter is if you plan on utilizing the features of managing your hosts through vCenter.
