Some "special and strange" rules for server hardware on which ESXi 5.1U2 and 5.5 run

One friend told me that ,WHEN INSTALLING the ESXi5.1 u2  on a 8-socket server based on Intel Xeon E7-v2 ,  he found that there must be a network card on CPU0.

Yes,it is "CPU0"; if one NIC is lied on another CPU(CPU1 for example), the ESXi 5.1 u2 can not been installed.

If my friend is right, I think it is "special and strang" , ENOUGH!!!

I do not know if my friend is right. Some guys can tell me the truth ,including 5.1 u2 and 5.5 edition.

Hmmm interesting, this is not something I have come across in my experience, and I have installed ESXi 5 hundreds of times on various hardware, Dell, HP IBM etc...If there is such requirement this would have been in the installation guide, but I doubt this is the case.
