VM gets grayout and invalid.

Hi,

We get one of the VM is gray out and when I right click on the VM get all options also gray out.

I have also checked VM files that found VMname.vmx.lck.  What should be done to resolve the issue.

There may be many reasons for this and require more information to determine the resolution steps.

1. Has something happened recently that this could be linked with, e.g. Host failover, Maintenance Mode, failed vmotion, storage issues.

2. Is this the first time this has happened ?

3. Are there any other VMs showing similar status ?

4. What version of vSphere and vCenter are you on ?

5. Are there anything in the Events log pointing to anything wrong ?

6. Have any Hosts experienced problems ?

After removing Virtual machine from the inventory and then re-adding it manually by re-registering, Issue has been resolved/
