VM in-place upgrade from 2008 R2 to Windows 2012 -- IP retain issue

VM in-place upgrade from 2008 R2 to Windows 2012 -- IP retain issue

VM in-place upgrade is successful from Windows 2008 R2 to Windows 2012, but the NIC ( VMXNET3) does not keep the existing IP. Created a new interface in the registry and assigned static to dynamic IP. For example:- Windows 2008 R2 has static IP -- 192.168.1.10, after the upgrade to Windows 2012 R2, the NIC has 168.192.10.x

Any idea, how to resolve this issue. Thank you in advance.

This could be one of the reason why the Static IP address changed.

Can you verify if there was any Firmware Upgrade been done.

There was some known issues with one of the Convenience Update as well.

KB3125574 Convenience Update replaces VMXNET 3 NIC Adapter on Windows 2008 R2 VMware VM's

Please revert this and test
