VMDirectPath Configuration on IBM 3850 M2

Hello, we need mount card reader device to directly vm which running on ESXI 4.1 installed system IBM 3850 M2. When I go Configuration--->Hardware--->Advanced Settings menu on host I have no option to configure it. it says HOST DOES NOT SUPPORT PASSTHROUGH CONFIGURATION. is there any other way to mount card reader directly to the vm? Or how can I enable passthrough mode to support on this server?

Thank you in advance!

What kind of card-reader is it? Is it attached using USB?
