What is VMware's position on installing third party management tools on ESXi 4.1?

My Company's vulnerability management team is constantly asking me to install third party management tools on my ESXi 4.1 host servers.  Specifically they want me to install the BigFix agent so that they can scan the server for vulnerabilities.  Does anyone know what VMware's position is on installing third party tools on ESXi 4.1?

Welcome to the Community - There are a number of third party tools that are suppported by VMware and like all software as long as it is supported they are fine with third party agents -

Agreed on the support part.

Though I dont think that BigFix has an agent for ESXi (you can't just use the Linux one).
