Windows 2003 templates, sysprep, and vcenter on windows 2008

I am trying to setup a template for a windows 2003 server in my lab. My vCenter is on a windows 2008 64bit machine. I have created a vm with windows 2003 R2 sp2 and all patched up and cloned to a template.

Now I wanted to deploy the template and use the Guest Customization options. I tried to use the instructions that I found here:

Now on win 2k8 there is no documents and settings folder but on the vcenter I did find c:\ProgramData\VMware\VMware VirtualCenter\sysprep\svr2003 Which seemed correct. I placed the files there.

<folder> SP2QFE

<folder> update

spmsg.dll

spunist.exe

When I get to the guest customization options it says that rescources were not found, so I know I did something wrong. Is there a better guide to setting this up? or did I miss something simple?

there was a thread opened awhile back with the exact location, but I couldn't find the exact thread, maybe this will be helpful?

I got it. The files that I needed were in the deploy.cap file.
