I installed a new ESXi 6.5u1 on Friday 25.08 and until now the sdcbd service crashed three times.
I am using a LSI 9271-8i Raid Controller and installed the "lsiprovider cim 500.04.V0.66-0002" to manage my storage and raid through a vm.
When i suddenly cannot connect with the lsi management software anymore i have to restart the "sfcbd-watchdog" service and then sensors are ok and i can connect again.
Any ideas?
Have you installed 65U1 using VMware ISO or HP/Dell provided ISO?
I have installed the VMware ISO and the LSI CIM provider to manage my controller. Nothing else.
I am using the nativ lsi_mr3 driver.
I dont use any HP hardware, supermicro board and lsi 9271-8i controller.
so today this happened again,

This is currently a known issues and has no solutions as of yet. While annoying that this error should show up repeatedly, the affected core service is automatically re-launched and proceeds to operate normally for an undetermined amount of time. If you get any error messages in web management indicating the service isn't running as simple refresh either via the web browser button or the offerd link included in the warning message will typically since the host will have restarted the necessary executable.

Hi there
If you can live without LSI provider then I suggest you to disable the LSI provider
How to disable the provider?
Run below command
esxcli system wbem provider set -e false -n <provider_name>
How to get provider name?
esxcli system wbem provider list
That way, atleat sfcbd will not crash
