Hello!
We run virtual machines with different operating systems (w2k3, w2k8, linux) on our ESX hosts. I think to get the most benefit from memory sharing we should have guests of the same OS on the same host. Is this correct?
Or do you recommend to distribute all OS over all hosts?
Thank you very much!
Transparent Sharing Pages doe not work always, but only when free mem pages are "low".
So if you have a lot of free resources don't worry.
In other case it could be a good idea to have similar OS grouped on the same ESX.
But remember also availability: for example be sure that DC are on different hosts
