I am trying to install windows 2008r1 on Vm running 3.5 ESXI and Im getting a windows install error stating that my cpu is not compatible with a 64bit machine. I'm not sure what is going on here. I have a Dell Power Edge 840 server with a XEON x3220. This processor is a 4 core XEON. I would like to upgrade to ESXi 4.0. How can I do this? I am using the free copy of 3.5. Can anyone suggest something?
