Are vsphere 5 esxi host licenses only valid to use if they're under support, or can you continue to use the version you have in an unsupported state? I had someone from vmware email me that he was going to decommission our licenses because he thought we hadn't renewed. (we had, but the third party vendor we order from hadn't forwarded them over to vmware)
I never heard of anyone from vmware threatening to decommission license keys before so I figured I'd ask. I probably wouldn't even care if he hadn't sounded like such a douche in his email, but anyway, just curious how that works.
