Hi,
We need to implement a load balancing solution for a certain service.
Does anyone have experience with running load balancers such as Zeus, LVS, etc in a virtual environment?
We'd like to get an enterprise LB solution in place. One that serves are all needs.
The vendor of theis specific service seemed to think virtualizing load balancers was not a great idea.
Any thoughts?
You can use NLB for virtual machines in Windows. Here's a guide how to implement them.

Have you think of using load balancer appliance? Try using Hercules Load Balancer appliance on vmware.com as well.

We use F5's for all our load balencing , but it would be nice if they did a virtual appliance in the same way as the cisco nexus 1000v
I also did a write up (focusing on VDI) using Crossroads.

XR is an open source service that you can put on many *nix platforms.
It would also handle the load balancing requirement you seek.

Hello,
I have virtualized LVS in the past but I have not done anything with it in a very long time. Seemed to work fine for the task.

This looks interesting. However I can't seem to download it.
