Horizon 7.11 - vSphere 6.7
I mysteriously lost a Parent vm for a linked clone pool (that weird story here) and apparently the replica is gone too. So now I have a working pool, but without a parent. So I have to build a new parent VM.
I am wondering if there is a way to leverage one of the exiting linked clone VM's in the pool to do this? A linked clone can be cloned to a full clone, but according to this KB it should not be used as a master or parent. VMware Knowledge Base . Clone to template to parent VM? Not sure.
If anyone has a way to do this much appreciated, meanwhile I need to start building the parent image from scratch.
Note to self - start backing up parent vm's!
