Old document, but I would imagine there are many use cases for a Windows XP based pool. We ran into an issue with one of the settings in the guide.
I would recommend skipping the fsutil behavior set disable8dot3 recommendation, or evaluating the behavior of any applications that would reference %TEMP% or %TMP%, environment variables that will inherently use 8.3 naming conventions. From what I understand this setting provides minimal performance improvement, whch may not be worth the headache of potential compatibility issues.
