Hi!
I've just installed VMware View Connection Server, and I'm trying to open http://localhost/admin but hte page cannot be found!
Which service does this webservice use? (I can't find it under services)
Any ideas?
(I've installed version 4.5 on a Windows 2003 R2 and the installation was succesfully)
VMware View Framework Component Provides event logging, security, and COM+ framework services for View Manager. This service must be running for the correct operation of View Manager.
One more note, You cannot log in to View Administrator through a Web browser when the SSL setting for your View clients is not consistent with the URL you use to connect to View Administrator. If you deselect the SSL setting, you cannot use https in the URL.
Did you try https://localhost/admin instead of http://localhost/admin?
Best Regards,

Hi
Under services view install 6 services:
Vmware View Connection Server
VMware View Framwork Component
VMware View Message Bus Comonent
VMware View Script Host
VMware VIew Security Gateway Component
VMware VIew Web Component
For the web site i think is the Web Component Service is this service started?
Have you restarted the server after install? Is the server physical or virtual?
Best Regards
Simon
Anything with the VMware View ** in the service applet need to be started. In addition to that i would need to look out that there is no existing IIS running that would port clash.

View Connection Server uses ports 80 and 443 to receive and send requests. did you check it?
Ah!
VMware View Framework Componenet won't start.
Should this service run?
And yeah, i's virtual (off course )
(WMvare View Script Host is disabled, but maybe it shouldn't run as default?)

Sorry to bother you!
The error (for first time in history maybe) was found in undertandable english in the application log:
Connection Server stopping. The configured fully qualified host name of this computer (computer.domain.com) does not match the current name of this computer (computer.example.com). It is likely that this server is no longer a member of the domain that it was joined to when the "Connection Server" software was installed. From Control Panel "Add or Remove Programs" please remove "Connection Server" and "Adam Instance VMwareVDMDS" and then reinstall "Connection Server".
I guess this will help. Thanks again!
