VMware View VDI Stress tools

Do we have any good stress tools for VMware View? I know one which is LoginVSI but that is a licensed one?

do we have any free open source tools in the market or something which is cheaper in licensing?

Thank you.

I'm sure it's free but it may be limited to VMware partners and employees.  If you know someone in that role they may be able to get you access.

You can try to use Vdbench. It is a free tool to generate i/o load - http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/server-storage/vdbench-downloads-1901681.html

A couple of years ago I found a free tool that was meant to simulate a workload on a VM.  It would open applications, type, load webpages, all of the typical workload generator type tasks.  A quick Google search didn't bring it up, but I'll check and see if I can find a copy of it saved someplace and post back if I find the name.

Hi,

There are a couple of tools:

- LoginVSI Pro (licensed);

- VMware Capacity Planner (think it was for partners, not sure);

- LoadGen (licensed);

Cheers.

To test IO stress namely latency on our storage from within the guest os we use IOMeter which is free.
