Just a quick question, is it possible to have View 4.0 and View 4.5 running parallel on separate servers of course, but with the same vCenter Server? Is ESXi 4.1 needed for View 4.5?

It's all in the upgrade guide. Connection servers should be upgraded in the same maintenance window, 4.5 connection server is not compatible with 4.0 connection server.

ESX 4.0 Update 2 and ESX 3.5 update 5 are also supported.
