Welcome to the installer for VMWare Horizon stuck

Hi,

Trying to install VMware-Horizon-Connection-Server-x86_64-8.3.0-18294467 on a fully patched Windows Server 2022.

When I start the installer the wizard starts but <Back or Next> buttons are grayed out, Cancel is the only button I can press. After it has been stuck on this screen for over an hour, I went ahead and rebooted the server.

Logging in as another Domain Administrator account made no difference, Connection Server installer hangs on the 1st installer screen. 

Is this a known issue? Is there a workaround ?

after staying on the 1st screen overnight, the installer let me click Next> but exited on the next screen with the following error. Installation Interrupted.  The wizard was interrupted before VMWare View Connection Server could be completely installed

App Event log has 2 events: 

11708 from msinstaller
Product: VMware Horizon Connection Server -- Installation operation failed.

and 

1033 from msinstaller as well

Windows Installer installed the product. Product Name: VMware Horizon Connection Server. Product Version: 8.11.0.22629722. Product Language: 1033. Manufacturer: VMware, Inc.. Installation success or error status: 1603.

Looks like the problem has something to do with c++

According to https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/78652 Windows server 2022 is supported for Horizon 8 2111 and later

I am installing VMware Horizon Connection Server 2309 (8.11) and getting an error in the logs
