Antivirus has to pre-installed in the template or post install after the deployment of virutal desktop

Hi All,

Will their be a unique instance created for antivirus software after deploying virtual desktops(Example: Windows XP) or the instance will be the same. In other words we have to pre-install the antivirus software in the template or it has to post-install after deployment. Will this create any difference. Need your suggestions on this.

Thanks

Roshan

This all depends on

a: on your anti-virus vendor and their enterprise deployment strategy,

b: how your are deploying your VDI Guests, traditional or Linked,

Thank you very much for your reply Tom.

If am not using linked clones and deploy only full clone (all with Windows XP guest OS along with antivirus software). Will their be any issue in antivirus program ie., getting its virus definition updates automatically or antivirus application corrupt etc.

not with McAfee or Trend, I do not have any experince with Symantec, but Innocualan for CA will aslo be OK being preprovisioned. with a Linked Clone, I should have the answer in a couple of weeks, as we are currently undergoing trials.
