esxtop reports wrong zero values for CPU and Memory (Service Console)

Hi everybody!

We are working on a BMC Performance Manager (PATROL) Integration based on the esxtop command in batch mode.

The integration works fine yet but esxtop reports zero values for several service console CPU and memory values but

they aren't zero at all as esxtop in interactive mode shows correctly?

Does anybody know about this problem.

It is ESX Server 3.5.0 Update 4 on IBM hardware ...

Thanks in advance and kind regards ...

Timo

Which counters are you getting problems with? Have you seen this esxtop guide: http://communities.vmware.com/docs/DOC-9279

Thanks,

Hi!

Yes i have already read the complete document and used it while the implementation. The interesting thing is

CCPU Context Switches has correct values but

CCPU Idle Time / Usertime / Systemtime and Waittime have zero values which seems to be wrong. The

esxtop interactively shows us values for these parameters! Next to this it is the Disk performance data

(not memory ... memory values are ok! My mistake!). CMDs/a READS/s WRITE/s MBREAD/s and

MBWRTN/s report zero values all the time?

Any further idea ... ?

Kind regards ...
