UMDS Not Creating vmw-ESXi-5.5.0-metadata File

Hello-

I recently set up a new instance of vSphere 5.5 and deployed an Update Manager Download Service 5.5 server to pull in updates from the web.  I'm trying to get the vSphere Update Manager to successfully download updates from UMDS, however for some reason UMDS never generates a vmw-ESXi-5.0.0-metadata.zip file.  I've looked at the output of the vmware-umds.exe -D command and I can see the server go out to VMware.com and download the file, but it never deposits it into my UMDS repository.  Out of curiosity, I enabled ESXi 5.0.0 packages and the server downloads them and deploys the metadata file just fine.  Has anyone been able to get this working successfully or is it just me?  Any ideas what to check?  I've tried re-downloading the files and nothing.  I've also tried completely setting this up from scratch on a different server and the same problem exists.
