Hi all,
i'm quite new to vsphere infrastrcture.
I installed Update manager and the plugin is installed and working in vSphere Client but the plugin is not present in vSphereWebClient.
In WebClient the plugin seems up and running:
and also in extensions:
but Update tab is not present anywhere in webclient.
I already tried rebooting vcenter appliance without success
Someone can help me to understand what happened?
Thanks
Check for update Manger tab under Manage.
Select the host --> go to Manage and look for update manager.
The documentation says the tab is available in Monitor section but I think that needs to be corrected. Check the link
vSphere 6.0 Documentation Center
No. Any update tab is not visible on every page
you have to re-register Update manager with vCenter if client plugin is missing.
Login to Update manager server.
Go to - C:\Program Files (x86)\VMware\Infrastructure\Update Manager
Run VMwareUpdateManagerUtility.exe
Login with vCenter Admin/password.
Then select - Re-register to vCenter Server
Enter vCenter IP/server name, User name, password and apply.
if needed Restart update manager service.
Logout and login back to web client.

Hi @all,
I have the same Issue, re-registering the Update-Manager did not resolve the problem.
I found the following KB-Article: KB:2146016
Cause:
This issue occurs due to an incompatible third-party plug-in installed in vCenter server.
Resolution:
To resolve this issue, update or remove any incompatible third-party plug-ins.
I'm just wondering how to determine the "incompatible third-party plug-in"?
Do you have any idea?
Kind Regards
Hey All,
in our Case it was a network related issue.
In vsphere_client_virgo Log I found the following Line:
[2018-02-23T21:54:41.738+01:00] [ERROR] vc-extensionmanager-pool-105 70000042 100008 200002 com.vmware.vise.vim.extension.VcExtensionManager Package com.vmware.vcIntegrity was not installed!
Error downloading https://*VUM-FQDN*:9087/vci/downloads/vumclient.zip. Make sure that the URL is reachable then logout/login to force another download. java.net.SocketTimeoutException: connect timed out
After opening Port 9087/TCP and restarting VMware vSphere Web Client Service on Vcenter Server the Package was successfully downloaded.
Greez,
Hi Zulianino
VMware update manager extension name is "com.vmware.vcIntegrity" can you click on this extension and check whether it is same extension version as shown in manage plugins in web-client.
If both are different, delete the plugin How to delete extension plugin and re-register the VMware update manager with vcenter again and verify the version there in MOB list.
