VCF Pre Requisite Exam

I have a question regarding the VMware Certified Specialist – Cloud Foundation 2023 exam.

I currently hold the pre requisite exam VCP-DCV-2021. Will I be able to sit this exam till it expires in June 2024? Or do I need to take it before the end of this year because the pre requisite will change to VCP-DCV-2022 on 1/1/24?

No clues as to whether the VCP-DCV requirement will update to 2022 or remain at 2021.

Email certification@vmware.com and ask for clarity.

You may have received an answer from certification@vmware.com, but to confirm: with a VCP-DCV 2021, you can still earn the VCP-DCV 2024 by passing the exam, up through the end of CY 2024. So you still have the rest of this calendar year.

Hi,

The answer i got from them told something different, so i sat the exam during X-mas break, luckily i passed :-).

Now i have the next challenge, this exam has an end date of mid this year, and there is not much info available yet about the successor (VMware Certified Specialist - VMware Cloud Foundation Deployment 2024).

Congrats on passing! The VCF Deployment exam is the most current on the VCF technical certs. It replaces the VCF Specialist. There will be more on VCF over the next year or two as the product GTM continues to evolve; we'll evolve with it, but this certification is a great one to build on the VCP-DCV and focus on VCF.
