Hello, quick doubt
I am VCP 5.1 certified. I didn´t renew... I want to obtain VCP 6.5
Do i have to attend mandatory a training course? Or is it enough to pass the exams?
Thanks
You have to attend training.
Thanks!!!
VMware dropped the recertification policy in February, so if you hold an active VCP 5 certification, you shouldn't have to attend the training.
Please see options for "Data Center Virtualization" at the Certification page, or directly at VMware Certified Professional 6.5 - Data Center Virtualization (VCP6.5-DCV)

But if the VCP 5 is already expired, isn't training still necessary? Or did I get it wrong?
They reenabled them when they made the announce ment

FAQ
VMware Recertification Rollback
http://campaign.vmware.com/imgs/edu/VMware_Recertification_Rollback_FAQ.pdf?mid=24574&eid=CVMW200004...
The points are;
– No more 2-year VCP recertification requirement. No more Expiration Date for VCP!
– If your VCP in Expired status, some of them will be in Active status again (Rollback)
– These changes will be reflected in Certification Manager on April 2019
– Anybody took VCP Expired Path to re-certify their expired VCP within the last six month, a free one-year Premium License to the VMware Learning Zone will be provided.
I thought it was just 5.5, but apparently anything in the 5.x range applies to this retroactive policy, so OP shouldn't need another training class in that case.
Ok, so in my case I DO NOT need to to the training course again:
I´m VCP 5 from September 2014. I din´t renew.
Thanks.
