Enable EVC

I have a cluster of 2950s and I am trying to add a new R900 but will need to enable EVC, so I can use VMotion, but it says EVC can not be enabled because not all VMs in the cluster are powered off... my question is I have to shut down the entire cluster VM's in order to enable EVC?

yes you do - to enable EVC on a cluster all VMs must be shut down before enabling EVC for the cluster
