Throttling Guest NIC speeds

Hi

Does anyone know if it is possible to throttle a guest's NIC speed on a ESX 3 guest?

I'm trying to simulate a WAN connection between a couple of servers to test some software. I've found the answer for ESX 2.5, but nothing for ESX 3. The NIC parameters in Windows on the guest allow me to limit to 10 Mbs half duplex, but I need something like 2 Mbs!

Any ideas?

Hey,

To throttle a vm in esx

You need to configure the traffic shaping policy tab of the port group or vswitch.

If you have many VMs on this host, you may want to place this particular VM in its own port group and configure the throttling on that port group
