Cannot install VMware Update Manager 1.0 U2...HELP !!!!

I opened a call with VMWAre support. No luck. Have tried everything remove Virtual Center completely, reinstall O/s. Vmware Update Manager U1 (latest) will not install getting the following errors:

Microsoft Visusal C++ Runtime Error

I am using the local admin account to install the application. All other extensions get installed except VUM

Please help!!!!!!!

Hello,

Ensure that the VUM service is no longer running. Even if you 'delete' the previous install sometimes the service is left running.

I have tried that. Actually I rebuild the server from scratch. Still it fails on Runtime library error.

Can I install old version of update manager with VC 2.5 U2 ??
